April 24, 2012 Meeting Recap
WOW! What a meeting we had last night! Such energy, such wonderful speeches, and 7 guests!!! For those that couldn’t be with us, we feel your pain at missing such a great meeting, good time and fantastic learning. It was exciting to be there and I hope we can keep that excitement and energy moving forward into summer. Please bring your smiling face next week. Just talked with Nina, and she shared that the students were impressed and some will be returning, some joining, and Nina will also be joining us, perhaps in May! Such great news.
First, We will be holding elections on May 22. We need to know who is interested in a position, and of the current officers, who will not run again. A list of the current Officers and job descriptions follows at the end. Please let Nancy or myself know your intentions so we can get the ballots prepared. Remember, a little completion is a GOOD thing. Also, I thought it might be a good idea to have a co, or a second, for the positions. It allows shared responsibility as well as promoting teamwork, and helps with our busy schedules. Then the co might want to run for the VP position next time. If you would be interested in working with someone on a position, let us know also.
I’m still working on a membership campaign. This is for May 1 – June 30. “Beat the Clock” is about finishing the year on schedule -with a bang! Here’s a wonderful new club goal: Earn the “Beat the Clock” award! Clubs adding five new, dual or reinstated members during these two months receive a “Beat the Clock” ribbon to display on the club’s banner. qualifying clubs will also earn a special discount code for 10% off their next club order. So, in addition to the club receiving an award (and qualifying for two more items on our way to President’s Distinguished Club Award), there will be something special for the club members who invite and sponsor the most new members during this two month period. Spread the word, lets really end this year with a big bang, giving us a great way to start the year!!
